The Care Pathway in the Great War
November 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
A fascinating insight into medical advances.
Dr Eric Somerville says this talk was inspired by his grandfather’s medical evacuation and repatriation from the Western Front in WW1. He will describe this process in detail and highlight the huge advances in medicine and surgery that occurred during the conflict. New weaponry inflicted terrible injuries and this was the first major war in which combat deaths exceeded those caused by disease. The medical profession rose to the challenge.
